Carcharocles chubutensis, Summerville SC, 2&5/8”, listing no. 1201
This is a large upper anterior tooth from Carcharocles chubutensis, the evolutionary predecessor to the fearsome Megalodon shark. This tooth dates from the early to middle Miocene period, between 5 and 28 million years ago.
All of my fossils are personally collected from the Charleston, SC area and are completely natural, with no repair or restoration.
