This is a large upper anterior tooth from the extinct giant thresher shark, Alopias grandis. Fossilized teeth from thresher sharks are exceptionally rare. This tooth dates from the Early-Middle Miocene period, between ~10-23 million years ago.

All of my fossils are personally collected from the Charleston, SC area and are completely natural, with no repair or restoration
